Assisting Victims and Families

When possible and necessary, we may help victims and their families through the treatment process and act as a liaison with medical professionals.

Victims of snakebite often go through a long and difficult process to treat the effects of the venom coursing through their bodies. Snakebite can be quite painful and uncomfortable. Meanwhile, the family is very worried and does not know how to deal with doctors, nurses, and the cost of treatment. SCAN representatives can help as a liaison between the patient, the family, and the hospital to navigate through the process of treatment and recovery at home. We can sometimes provide rides to clinics for wound cleaning and bandage changes, or sometimes we can help with the bandage changes ourselves (certain people are trained for this).
